The Spoke supports "The Scout"

On March 31, members of The Spoke staff pledged to support "The Scout," a student newspaper in Colorado who is facing the possibility of closure after they published an article exposing the death of a classmate.

Floor Hockey Tournament

Students of all skill levels came out tonight to Day 1 of the floor hockey tournament. Thirteen teams with six players each faced off against each other to determine which male and female teams would face off against the winners of tomorrow night's tournament, where eleven other teams will face off in the same way, on April 15. The finals for the pickleball tournament will also be held the same day.

Track practice begins with a near-record-breaking number of runners





The Conestoga Track and Field team started practicing for the spring season Monday, March 14.  Though the season just recently began, the team heads to their first meet Wed March 30.  A staggering 250 students joined the track team this year.  These student-athletes practice after school everyday, with meets generally once during the school week, and another meet on the weekends.

Floor Hockey Tournament

Students sell tickets to participate in the school-wide, Peer Mediation-sponsored floor hockey tournament, which will be held on March 30. The event is similar to the pickleball tournament held in February in that any student, regardless of grade level or ability, can participate.

Two members of the frisbee club jump for the Frisbee. The club is well attended with about 50 people showing up to have fun and get some exercise.

Battle of the Bands ticket sales

CAPCO, or Conestoga After Prom Celebration Organization, parent volunteers are selling tickets for Battle of the Bands this week, which will take place on Friday, March 18.

Desis Abroad presents "South Asian Culture Day"

Conestoga's Desis Abroad club had its annual South Asian Culture Day today. There was food in the main lobby, along with games and music. During 4th and 7th periods, students presented dances and sang traditional Indian songs, in the auditorium.

Sophomore Jessica Lee shows off her sell-out bakesale for Casa Esperanza. The money raised in the cupcake sale will go to Casa Esperanza, a children's home in Guatemala, where Lee volunteered.

Students come to "Kiss the Cast" of Phantom

Sophomore Connie Yang adds a Hershey Kiss and personal note into the "Kiss the Cast and Crew" box for the Phantom of the Opera, Conestoga's spring musical.  Students and other audience members attending one of the many performances of Phantom also had the chance to bid on individual baskets representing characters from the musical.

'Stoga Theater presents "Phantom of the Opera"

Conestoga opened the new spring musical, "Phantom of the Opera," today. The cast and crew have been working on the show since early December, which runs from March 1 - 6, 2011. Performances will be held on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m. In addition, there will be matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be bough online, or at the door.
